Alberta age-friendly information workshops

The Government of Alberta has a role in helping local communities in becoming age-friendly through sharing of information and resources, and supporting the development of partnerships. The Government of Alberta held a series of Age-Friendly information workshops to share ideas, tools and resources to empower communities to lead and mobilize community-driven, age-friendly initiatives.

Workshop participants engaged in discussions relating to:

  • Who must we engage in our communities to realize success?  
  • How can we gather information about our current age friendliness?  
  • What factors do we need to consider as we implement an action plan?  
  • How do we build and maintain support to continue working on age-friendliness?

The Age-Friendly information workshops have been held in:

  • Camrose
  • Cochrane
  • Grande Prairie
  • Lethbridge
  • Medicine Hat
  • Red Deer
  • Spruce Grove
  • St. Paul
